1984–1999 Evolution — Harley-Davidson Engine Print
This handmade drawing portrays the Evolution Big Twin, Harley-Davidson’s groundbreaking V-Twin engine produced from 1984 to 1999. Introduced as a complete redesign of the Shovelhead, the Evo brought aluminum heads and cylinders, improved oil circulation, and refined cooling — transforming Harley-Davidson’s reputation for reliability and quality.
The illustration shows the early version of the engine equipped with its factory-style air cleaner, giving it the full, balanced look that defined Harley’s return to form in the mid-1980s. With 80 cu in (≈1340 cc) displacement, the Evolution powered iconic models such as the FXR, Softail, and Touring series — combining old-school torque with modern smoothness and precision. For many riders, this engine symbolized Harley-Davidson’s comeback — a perfect blend of heritage and progress.
Each print is part of a collector’s series celebrating Harley-Davidson engines across more than a century of history. Perfect for enthusiasts, workshops, or anyone who values vintage engineering and design.
