Introduced in 1911, the F-Head (“inlet-over-exhaust”) replaced atmospheric intake valves with a mechanically actuated system, delivering a major leap in reliability and performance. Built through 1929, it powered both road bikes and race winners, anchoring Harley-Davidson’s dominance in the 1910s and 1920s.
